“One thing I noticed when I started studying here as an international student is that the teachers are very approachable and are there for many people. This might be a normal thing here, that teachers are just doing their job. But from where I’m from, it’s a privilege to have access to teachers directly, the way we do now. I love it, but I never really understood the impact it had on me until I started studying. The teachers show genuine care and support with the problems you encounter and that makes me feel heard. That makes me feel more comfortable in the school environment. I now believe I can really achieve my academic goals and reach my full potential. That’s really important, because it brings out the best in me as a student, so it’s just really nice to have the support from the teachers. That also helps me to have a sense of being part of the team.”
