The Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security of University of Maribor (UM FCJS) is a university-level research and study institution in criminal justice and security studies, internationally acknowledged and taking part in developing knowledge, which constitutes a base for developing and offering internationally comparable undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The FCJS addresses the challenges of providing Slovenian society with a comprehensive criminal justice education system, not only because of the rapid development of this sector and the area of study but also because Slovenia is a member of the European Union, where the principle of the free movement of people, capital, goods, and services prevails. The mission of the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security is to develop the field of criminal justice studies (also known as police and security studies) based on the traditional academic disciplines of law, sociology, psychology, political science, criminology, criminal investigation, organizational science, information security, and computer forensics. EMP
European Migrant Platform (EMP) is a newly established NGO (October 2020) in Brussels that aims to; promote equal treatment, equal rights, and better integration for migrants in Europe, encourage social and economic development through migration in Europe; support migrants to integrate into the economic, social, cultural and political spheres of the host society; build a bridge between migrants and the society of the host country bearing in the mind the importance of meaningful interactions, empathy, sense of belonging, mutual understanding, inclusion, wellbeing of the society as a whole; encourage the established migrants to play an active role in solving social problems and to be hospitable to newly arrived migrants and refugees. EMP realizes its objectives by mobilizing migrants and implementing various activities including awareness-raising on societal responsibilities and sensitivities. EMP has developed a strong network of migrants across Europe. EMP has members and volunteers from different backgrounds such as IT experts, entrepreneurs, teachers, doctors, academics, and journalists. The organization cooperates with different national, and international stakeholders to help refugees and migrants re-imagine their careers, but also lives.
